Lochcarron of Scotland
Auld Scotland Tartan Lambswool Serape
This is a high quality serape, made from our 100% lambswool blankets. These serapes should be worn over the shoulder like a cape. They are very soft and cosy, perfect for a cooler evening. Could wear with casual or formal dress.
Lochcarron produced this tartan in January 2008, around the anniversary of the National Bard, Robert Burns. Wishing to mark his 250th anniversary to be celebrated the following year, the name Auld Scotland was inspired by the modern version of his toast to the Haggis.
The colours used are reminiscent of those associated with the Ayrshire countryside. The pale Yellow which is strongly featured recognises the importance of the barley used to create Scotland's National drink, whisky, traditionally used to toast the Haggis, which has itself a base of golden oats
